2019 Mercedes GLE-Class SUV Review of Changes and Safety: What’s New!

New 2019 Mercedes-Benz GLE 400 4Matic SUV is replacing both the 2018 GLE 350 and 2018 GLE 350 4Matic! Only 4 Wheel-Drive option is available and the Rear Wheel Drive variant is no longer possible in 2019. Watch video below:

New powertrain includes the new V6, 3.0 Liter Bi-Turbo engine, which increases the power from 302 HP of 2018 GLE350 to 329 HP of 2019 GLE400. That’s +27 Horsepower increase this year!

The new 2019 GLE400 also gets an improvement in the acceleration. It propels from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.9 seconds, which is 1.6 seconds faster than 2018 GLE350’s 7.5 sec. That is a sizable difference!

2019 GLE SUV’s suffer from the reduction of the exterior colors. Two exterior paints: Dakota Brown and Diamond Silver are discontinued and not even replaced with anything new.

GLE-Class Safety Review demonstrates the Mercedes-Benz “Endurance test” including crashing the car at multiple angles, dropping upside down, taking through the extreme off-roading under extreme weather temperatures and tough conditions.

Mercedes GLE Class performed exceptionally well when IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) prepared it’s safety report. During multiple crashes GLE SUV earned the highest safety ratings, and as a result it was awarded “2018 IIHS – Top Safety Pick”. GLE is an elite vehicle when it comes to the safety technology in comparison with any other vehicle.

Besides GLE400, 2019 GLE-Class SUV lineup also offers 3 AMG models: GLE43 AMG, GLE 63 AMG and GLE63s AMG.

GLE 43 is powered by 3.0L V6, Bi-Turbo engine, which produces 385 HP and pushes the car from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.6 seconds. GLE 63 is powered by 5.5L V8, B-Turbo engine and goes from 0 to 60 in just 4.2 seconds. 5.5L V8, Bi-Turbo of GLE63s outputs healthy 577 HP and propels from 0 – 60 in just 4.1 sec.
