  1. Hello!! You are truly a life saver but I have a question I took my remote key a a Mercedes dealer and she said I need another remote but the cost $355 I have a c300 2010 Mercedes can you help me out and yes I did buy a battery for it still not working by the way it works when it wants to.
    Thank you

    1. You can try to fix it, maybe in some electronic shop. Maybe they can find a loose connection and solder it. But if you want a new key, needs to be ordered via MB dealership. There is only 1 place in USA that produce them, I know a little expensive, but it’s the safest key on the market.

  2. I just purchased a 2018 E300, is there any reason why I can not deactivate the spare key(pressing lock twice, I learnt that from you, salesperson did not know that) then hide it somewhere in the car, reason being if I am out of state and lose my key, I can open the car with my phone, retrieve the key, reactivate the key and drive home. I did try it and it works, (cant open locked car with deactivated key inside) but a very small round red light appeared on the dashboard above the defrost button, is that an issue?

    1. Shirley, In the video that you’re referring “Top 7 MB problems” I’ve shown how to disable a Keyless Go feature, but not disable the key completely. Also if you saw at the end of that segment, I explained that if you have a newer 6th generation smart key (I believe that’s what you have), it also reacts to a motion sensor in the car. So once you disable the key-less go, but once you move it – it will activate back. But I don’t understand the problem. Are you saying: you can deactivate the key and lock the car with your phone, but then can’t unlock using the phone? Try to open via “Mercedes Me” website (instead of using phone app) on your phone at https://www.mbusa.com/mercedesme/index and see if that works.
